Yesterday Boya and I went to our respective doctors. It was very convenient coz our doctors shared 1 clinic. He gained .5 kg and was given several vitamins. Ferlin for iron supplement and heraclene to stimulate his appetite. 1 medicine prescribed by the pedia made his Lola Alma freak out though-phenobarbital. According to our readings, this drug is administered to premature babies. It also has lasting side effects which are not good.
First of all, Boya is not a premature baby. It just so happened that he weighed less at birth compared to his sisters. Both Louise and Viona weighed 6.42 lbs at birth while Boya weighed 6.05. Not much of a difference. Besides, I have a petite frame so it is but normal for me to give birth to small babies.
I'm grateful I have a mom who's a nurse. I can always ask for a 2nd opinion. And her recommendation? Change pedia! We'll be going home to Manila soon and we will surely have another pedia.
Lesson learned: Always have a 2nd opinion before giving meds to my kids.

My Aloha dancer

Good job ate!
Ethan Marcus " Boya" Cordero- Serrano

Here are the first pictures taken of my new bundle of joy. These were taken at the hospital the morning after he was born; May 4th, 2008 at 7 in the evening.
His toes and fingers are the same like his dad's. He has dimples just like her ate! ala Aga Muhlach ang dating. He's another replica of his dad and ate Viona. Even his blood type is the same with his dad's. . . AB+. Lakas talaga ng dugo ng asawa ko!
Tongue?
funny how my lil girl describes the differences between her & her brother. at the hospital when i was changing boya's diaper she asked me, " Mom is that his patoytoy?" I said yes. And her next question was, " Why is it all tongue?" referring to his brother's testicles. We couldn't stop from laughing!
Last night, while i was changing his nappies, Viona asked me if she could touch his brothers patoytoy. I said ok coz i knew that she was still curious and confused. Then she said, " It's really a tongue mom!" Haha!
I'll let her dad explain why it looks like a tongue.

Big day
The wait was finally over! Gave birth to a healthy baby boy last May 4th. Like any normal deliveries, it wasn't a walk in the park. Though many think that the 2nd or 3rd childbirth doesn't hurt as much as the 1st one, not in my case. My pain tolerance is very low and so the pain is still like the 1st time. I got admitted to the hospital May 3rd at around 3pm, I was already at 2cm. They gave me 10 buscopan tablets to take every hour. May 4th came and I was still at 2-3cm. My doctor decided to put dextrose so they could administer the drugs through IV para mas mabilis. By 2 p.m. I started having constant contractions. The type of contractions na mapapamura ka sa sakit! Ang nakakainis pa, i HAD TO walk, walk and walk kahit namimilipit na ko sa sakit. Then at 6pm my doctor arrived to check on me. I was still at 5 cm, so 5 cm more to go. Buti na lang my OB knows me well, so kahit na 5 cm pa lang they wheeled me in the delivery room. After an hour of excruciating pain, i survived and gave birth to Ethan Marcus "boya" Cordero- Serrano.
